Frame

November 8, 2010

Monday? What happened to the weekend? I had a somewhat crafty weekend….Saturday I finally set my room the way I wanted it to look. I’ve been looking at a wall since I’ve had my own craftroom and I always kept it that way because of how I film my videos. Scott came up with a solution to filming (it’s on order) and I get to stop starring at walls 🙂 Depending on how long it takes to ship and when it gets here, I may not have any videos this week? Which is OK because I’m going to spend some time this week getting my list of videos straightened out and work on some other projects I have in the works….

Have you all seen the amazing frames that Teri has been making? The frame can be found at Michael’s in the wood section and measures 12×12 and holds a 5×7 picture. As soon as I saw the first frame Teri made I had to make one. This frame is for Scott’s parents, check out that cutey in the picture. I can’t believe he’s in 3rd grade already.

I’ll try to remember the supplies: I started it two weeks ago and finally finished it up this weekend:
Supplies:
Wood Picture Frame (Michaels), Crackle Medium, Red paint, Black Paint, Pattern Paper (Graphic 45 Playtime Past), Paper Trey Ink: It’s official stamp set, torn page die, and twine. Tim Holtz, on the edge file tab. Denin material, Sakura White Gel Pen, Don Juan Cricut Cartridge (Stars)
and a whole lotta love 🙂

3D Flower and a project in progress

June 30, 2010

It’s Wednesday 🙂 WOW this week is zooming by and tomorrow is already July. Before we know it it’ll be Christmas….

Yesterday I posted the tutorial on the 3D flower and had lots of questions on if the 3D flower Sizzix die will work in the Cuttlebug….Yep it sure will.
I have to tell you all something that drives me crazy….I hate that I can’t reply to your individual comments when you have a question. It drives me nutty…and makes me feel bad…..Veronica over at VKDesignCompany is working on some updates for my blog and when she’s done I hope to have something that will work better than the standard blogger comments. So hopefully soon I will have something to make that so much better. In the meantime if you have a question, just click on the “contact me” button over on the right…I will get back to you…..
OK so last night I started a project and planned on doing a video, but it’s one of those things that is so involved and I keep changing my mind on how it’s going to layout…so I canned the video…
Here is a picture or two of the work in progress. I won’t tell you what it’s gonna be until I’m done 🙂 It looks like a layout I know….but nope, it’s not….
Enjoy your Wednesday

Desk Organizer

June 28, 2010

Monday? Already?

My project this weekend was this desk organizer. I found it at AcMoore in the wood section a few weeks ago…I need something by my computer to hold pens and notebooks and other little office stuff that I seem to keep misplacing on my desk.

First I white washed it with white acrylic paint and water. After that I covered it with Pink Paislee’s Queen Bee collection. I love darker colors…more rustic looking….

At first I didn’t know how I was going to dress this up. It was one of those things that I had to keep moving stuff around to figure out what I was going to do. I had to walk away and it wasn’t until 9:30 last night that I finally was happy with how it was coming together.
The below picture shows some of the punch outs that coordinate with the Queen Bee collection. The pearls are from Prima’s E-Line Collection.

and for the bottom front of the organizer I used the coordinating Queen Bee Ribbon (it’s hard to see in the below picture). I was digging through some of my Prima Flowers and came across these really pretty orange, green, blue and pink flowers that I got at Michael’s a while back.
I think it gave it the perfect pop of color.

I really enjoy making altered projects. I found this really neat wooden box that is going to be really fun to alter. I think it would be perfect for holding a mini album. Since I’m on vacation next week with no plans of going away (other than a few day trips here and there), I can maybe work on a mini and alter the box too. I hope you all have a great day.
Supplies:
Pink Paislee Queen Bee Collection (ribbon, punchouts and paper)
Prima Flowers (these aren’t the ones I used, but I think they are neat)
Prima E-line Bling
White Acrylic Paint with water
paint brush-I prefer the Simply Simmons brushes

I'm absolutely thrilled to share an exciting creative project that I recently completed for @teamspellbinders . This particular piece was crafted using the beautiful and intricate dies from this month's Stitched Die Club collection. After experimenting with different possibilities, I decided to make my creation into a decorative tag.
