Just Because Cards Episode #4-Wagon Card

May 13, 2010

Oh I love this one….Today we are working on the Wagon Card…I didn’t want to make this the traditional “red wagon” card, so I used the mat pad by Carolyn Gavin called “Greenhouse”. I think I got it from Michael’s, but I’m not 100% sure…Everything was cut at 4-3/4 in. except for the sticker on the envelope which was cut at 1-1/2 in.

Here is today’s video…

For some reason I can’t seem to remember to leave the little link for you can play along…

Just Because Cards Video Series: The Basics

May 3, 2010

Happy Monday..

Today starts a new video series. “Just Because” Cards Cricut Cartridge..Here is a video on the basics to get you started….
Just a few things to note on the series…
1. As I was working with the cartridge I found that not all of the envelopes work with the cards like it says in the manual. So I made a file that you can download and use as a guide….
Just Because Guide http://d1.scribdassets.com/ScribdViewer.swf?document_id=30825271&access_key=key-1fv8edb65vfx8tomrxl2&page=1&viewMode=list
Please note this file is just at it’s beginning stages and will probably need to be updated as we go through the series….
2. The first video in the series will take you step-by-step on how to cut your images on the Cricut all the way through assembly…90% of the videos following will only be assembly (I may toss in one or two step-by-steps as we go)

3. There will be one video (Episode #3) showing how to use the “Just Because” Cards using your Gypsy.

4. If you have any questions please email me (creationswithchristina@yahoo.com). I thought it would be helpful to everyone if we created a separate post with “FAQ’s” on this cartridge. You can also follow along on Facebook HERE

5. I will be adding a link to each post so you can share your creations on the project we are working on that day. It’s just for fun and I hope you will join us…

I think I covered everything….

Have a great day….and tune in tomorrow for Episode #1 in the JBC series….

Hugs,

Create A Critter and Giveaway update

April 21, 2010

Hi Everyone,

Today is the big day….Check back later (OK tonight) to see the winner of “My Favorite Things” giveaway. I disabled the comments so I can prepare a little video for the drawing of the winner 🙂 My favorite little man is going to pick the winner 🙂

I picked up a few cartridges over the past two weeks 🙂 Lovin’ all of them. So here is a card I made using Create A Critter. Isn’t that the cutest kitty ever?

Supplies: Bazzill Cardstock, Basic Grey pattern paper, DMC Floss, Misc. button, Silver Charm, Tim Holtz Alteration on the edge file tab die, pink stickles, swiss dots cuttlebug embossing folder, Tim Holtz Tattered Rose Distress Ink.

The card measures 4-1/4 x 5-1/2. I used the Tim Holtz die to make the file tab, and then trimmed my paper to fit that space. The kitty and all her cute little kitty parts are cut at 3″ and the kitty bed was cut at 1-1/2in. I used the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder on the pillow and ran some tattered rose TH Distress ink over it. Before I laid my pattern paper down I added some DMC floss with a charm to give it a little more cuteness.

Hope you all have a great day and don’t forget to check back tonight for the winner. I’m off to work 🙂

Birthday Card

April 14, 2010

Hi All,
A friend at work asked if I would make him a birthday card for his niece. Sometimes I find it really hard to create something girlie. I think it’s because I’m the only girl in the house and when I shop for paper I don’t buy pink, It’s always green and blue. Well…Blue is my favorite color :0)

Anyway here is today’s card. I really like how it came out.

supplies: Cricut expression, A Child’s Year Cartridge, Corner Chomper, Vintage Cream PTI cardstock, Bazzill brown cardstock, Small Wonders Girl K&Co Designer mat pad, Stampin’ Up! On your birthday stamp set, Small Oval punch, Scallop Oval (SU) punch, Spring Moss Satin Ribbon, Vintage Cream PTI Hybrid Ink, Chocolate chip (SU) Ink, Recollection Pearls.

Have a great Wednesday!
