Birthday Card

April 14, 2010

Hi All,
A friend at work asked if I would make him a birthday card for his niece. Sometimes I find it really hard to create something girlie. I think it’s because I’m the only girl in the house and when I shop for paper I don’t buy pink, It’s always green and blue. Well…Blue is my favorite color :0)

Anyway here is today’s card. I really like how it came out.

supplies: Cricut expression, A Child’s Year Cartridge, Corner Chomper, Vintage Cream PTI cardstock, Bazzill brown cardstock, Small Wonders Girl K&Co Designer mat pad, Stampin’ Up! On your birthday stamp set, Small Oval punch, Scallop Oval (SU) punch, Spring Moss Satin Ribbon, Vintage Cream PTI Hybrid Ink, Chocolate chip (SU) Ink, Recollection Pearls.

Have a great Wednesday!

Child’s Year Card

March 2, 2010

Happy Tuesday,

I hope you are all having a great week so far….
I took a few last night to play with A Child’s Year Cricut cartridge. I think the new cartridges coming out in March has gotten me going again. Preserves looks like it will be the first one in my shopping cart. and Give a hoot looks good too and….
Oh wait I was talking about A Child’s Year… I’ve been having a hard time deciding what to create with this cartridge. I love the images, but just don’t know what to do with them….Here is one I came up with last night. As I’m typing this I’m thinking these images would look great on the wooden frames from Michael’s. Maybe a project for tonight?
Supplies: Sweet Blush Paper Trey Ink Cardstock and Satin Ribbon, My Minds Eye pattern paper, Bazzill brown and off white cardstock, White Pearls from Queen and Company.
I’ve received some blog awards over the past few days. I just wanted to thank you all so much. How sweet you all are. I have to go back and read all the comments over the past week and make a list of the awards so I can post them all at once. I’ll be working on that over the next few days.

Hugs to all of you. You are all so very very kind and sweet.

Happy Thursday,
It’s been crazy this week. I guess things won’t settle down now until after Christmas.
Are you done Christmas shopping yet? I’m almost there, I need a few more things and some stocking stuffers and I’ll be done.
As some of you may know I work as Head of Circulation at our local library. Well Monday I got a call from one of the libraries is our system asking if I can make bookmarks for a Tea Party they are having this weekend. This is what I came up with.
For the flower on the top of the bookmark I used chipboard covered in pattern paper (K&Co of course) and ran it through my Big Shot using the Flower Layers #3 die. It’s one of my favorite Sizzix dies. The ribbon is a grosgrain ribbon from Stampin’ Up!, I’m mostly using Chocolate Chip ribbon, but I didn’t have enough to make all 30 bookmarks so I’m using what is left of my So Saffron color. The tea pot in the center of the flowers is cut from the Cricut cartridge “A Child’s Year”. I cut the teapot at 1in. and embossed it using UTEE (I can’t stop using UTEE).
Oh My Gosh….have any of you started your Christmas cards? I have no clue what I’m making this year. Thankfully I have no plans this weekend and can get them started……
Have a great day.
Hugs,

Video Thursday-A Child’s Year

October 22, 2009

Happy Thursday everyone,
I decided around 10 last night that I had to make a video. I could not go a week without making at least one video. So I decided I needed to use some stuff that I haven’t used in a long time. I bought “A Child’s Year” Cricut cartridge back in August and I’ve only used it once.
Enjoy today’s video:

Supplies:
Pattern Paper: Daisy Bucket
Dark Brown Satin Ribbon: Paper Trey Ink
Whisper White Cardstock: Stampin’ Up!
White Textured Cardstock: Bazzill
Bitter Chocolate Cardstock: Bazzill
Metal Embellishment: All My Memories
Thanks for watching!

Celebrate

August 4, 2009

I’ve been having so much fun playing with my new stuff.

I love this card. OK I know I say that about every card (LOL). I’ve been sewing on my cards and can actually almost sew a straight line.

I used “A Child’s Year” Cricut Cartridge to cut out this little girl. I was having a hard time figuring out how to use pattern paper with this cartridge, but if you use a paper that doesn’t have a lot going on, it looks so much better. The base of the card is made with Stampin’ Up! Whisper white cardstock and the light blue cardstock is from Bazzil. The pattern paper is from my favorite collection by Daisy Bucket. I used Making Memories 5th avenue ribbon, the new tag punch from Stampin’ Up! with the word window punch. “Celebrate” is from Paper Trey Ink, little lady stamp set.

Happy Crafting! Christina
