Birthday Card

January 20, 2010

Can you believe this card has nothing Cricut……

This is a quick birthday card I made for my borther-in-law.

One of the hardest cards for me to make are masculine. I struggle with cards for men all the time. I think this card is great for either a man or women. It’s a little Kristina Werner inspired. I love her videos.

The picture doesn’t do the card justice. I had a hard time getting a good angle that would pick up the stamped image.

The stamp is from a Birthday Sentiments collection by Inkadinkado. I think I got mine at Michaels. I embossed the candle with clear embossing powder to give it that watermark look. Don’t ya just love the “Earth love” paper collection by Cosmo Cricket, the colors are my favorites.

Enjoy!

Sweet Treats Video Series #1

January 18, 2010

Today we start the next video series. We will be working with the Cricut Cartridge Sweet Treats…

Instead of making a basics video, I decided to give you a brief overview of the cartridge and go right into making a project.

Enjoy….

Gypsy Spot Challenge Week 2

November 8, 2009

Happy Monday,

Today’s Gypsy Spot Challenge is to create something welded with 2 different cartridges.
I used my Gypsy to weld together a scallop frame Accent Essentials and a cupcake from the Celebrations cartridge. I used Bazzill Cardstock for the base of the card and My Minds Eye (29th Street Market collection) pattern paper for the frame. I added some Paper Trey Ink satin ribbon on the side of the card and then some twine to the side of the frame. The pink “Sprinkes” are Liquid Pearls (Petal Pink). I also used the opposite side of the pattern paper for the base of the cupcake and some Very Vanilla Stampin’ Up! cardstock for the top.
Be sure to stop over at the Gypsy Spot to see more designs by some very talented designers.

Taking a break today

September 3, 2009

Good day all,
I’m taking a little Wild Card break today. I’ll be back tomorrow with a new video.

I thought I would share a few things.

First, I’ve been getting a lot of questions on on where I got the QuickStik pen that I use in my videos. I picked mine up at the CK Convention, but someone pointed me to Amazon. Here is the link.

I’ve been having a blast making the Wild Card cards and I love all of your comments. If you want to create along, you can link your site in the comment section below each video post or you can link to the thread on the Cricut message board that I create with each video I post.

Since I don’t have a video today, here is a picture of a Wild Card card I made a while back (don’t worry I’ll still have a video for this one) .

Cricut Celebrations

August 24, 2009

I think my computer is not happy with me. Last night we tried re-installing my video editing software that are acting wonky. Now my photo editing software has decided it doesn’t want to play anymore either. This morning I went to edit this photo and add my stamp at the bottom and it shut down on my 3 times. I’ve never had a problem with Photoshop before and we know the problem with my video software. Ugh….

Anyway…

This is for my sweet darling niece who is turning 16 this week. It’s so hard to believe that she is growing up, I still think of her as the little flower girl in my wedding. I’m so lucky to have this darling girl working with me at the library. She’s a joy.

I used Design Studio to weld together 2 cupcakes from the Cricut Celebrations cartridge. If you do this remember to flip one image, so when you fold the card all the ends match. Then I resized them to make the actual cupcake. I ran the bottom of the cupcake through my Fiskars crimper and then used UTEE (Ultra Thick Embossing Enamal) to give it some more character. The paper is from the DCWV Nana’s Nursery Baby Boy paper pack. I’ve had this pack for a while and never used it.

Here’s a cupcake card I made last week using Wildcard. Check it out here. I think I’m going through a little bit of a cupcake phase.

Everyday Paper Dolls-Video

August 24, 2009

Finally a video made. I have been trying to edit a video since Friday evening. My poor husband has spent hours trying to figure out what is going on. It seems my laptop all of a sudden decided to take the weekend off.

I finally purchased some Peachy Keen stamps so I can make these cute little paper dolls. I found my Everyday Paper Dolls Cricut Cartridge at AcMoore last week. I’m glad I did because when I went today, they were all gone.

Edit to add: I’ve had a lot of requests of where I got the Quickstik. I did get it from Scrapbookpal.com at the CK Convention, but it’s not listed on their website. It’s by QuickKutz and here is where you can purchase it.
Edited again for another place to order the QuickStick Pen. Someone found it on Amazon with free shipping.

Cards With Christina Video

August 13, 2009

Hey All,
Last night I made a new video for you using the Wild Card Cartridge with my new camcorder. The other one (which is less than a year old) did not focus well when I zoomed in to film. Everything we read about this camera was wonderful, but the manual and auto focus zoomed in was not very good (we didn’t know that when we bought it). I had tried many months ago the Flip Mino HD camera and did not like it at all. I think the real problem was my lack of experience. So I’m trying the Flip Mino HD again.

If you are a follower of my blog, but don’t have a blog yourself you can now follow along. I’ve added an email subscription list to the right hand side. So it’s now easier for everyone to follow.

About today’s card. My sister’s birthday is next week. I used the Cricut Wild Card Cartridge to make this card. I can’t find one cut on this cart that I don’t like. Thanks ProvoCraft. I read on the Cricut MB that Sweethearts, Everyday Paper Dolls and My Kitchen, the three newest carts for the Cricut are available at AcMoore (I checked mine yesterday, nope!)

Here’s your video for today. Enjoy

Here’s are the supplies:

After experimenting with different possibilities, I decided to make my creation into a decorative tag.
