Creations With Christina

where scrapbooking is a work of heart :)

CWC (7/25/11) Thank U.

July 25, 2011

Happy Monday,
I hope everyone had a great weekend. It was a busy one for me with lots of family time. Saturday we spend the day at the lake and it was great to get away from all the heat and humidity and do some swimming and relaxing. This card is going to my mother-in-law for hosting Saturday’s birthday party for my hubby. Anyway, I sat down in my room last night around 7 and couldn’t come up with anything to make for today’s card. I knew I needed to make a thank you card, but that was about it. Finally an hour later I decided to play with my embossing folders….

Summer Card Camp Week 4-Color Combo Challenge

July 19, 2011

I can’t believe its week 4 of summer card camp already. WOW it flew by….
This week’s challenge is right up my alley…Yep Green and Teal….YUMMY!
Over the weekend I started making a card for my boss at work and could you believe it went right with this weeks color challenge. Marie (that’s my boss) has been giving me some awesome cooking tips for cooking some of my newly grown veggies from my garden. She let me borrow a cookbook with some great recipes in it and I wanted to give her a little thank you card when I return the book.

I used the apron from the Savory Cricut Lite cartridge and cut off the strings to add my seam binding. I used my Gypsy to hide some of the other cuts on the base of the apron and then made my own little pocket. I also added the satin ruffle at the bottom and then went a little bling happy…lol
That’s all for today!!
Have a great day (it’s gonna be a hot one) 🙂
Hugs,

Supplies:
Cricut: Savory Lite Cartridge, Cricut Expression 2, Gypsy
Cardstock: Spring Moss (Paper Trey Ink)
Pattern Paper: Ducks in a Row (October Afternoon), Campfire (October Afternoon)
Stamps: Mixed Messages (Paper Trey Ink)
Ribbon: Seam Binding, Ruffle Trim
Misc: Recollections Gems, Sakura White Gel Pen

Gypsy Spot Challenge

November 2, 2009

This week kicks off the Gypsy Spot site and I’m so excited to be a designer.

The challenge this week was to create something using Gypsy Wanderings, Gyspy Fonts or both. So I went with Wanderings. I love this cute little butterfly. I used black cardstock for the base of the card and the pattern paper is by Basic Grey (ambrosia). This pattern paper is totally not my norm but I love how it came out. The butterfly was cut at 2 in. and Thanks is cut at 1.25 in. I used the blackout feature on both cuts. The black stitched ribbon is from a Making Memories ribbon set and I pulled out my nestabilities labels (set 3) and ran the black cardstock and pattern paper through my Big Shot.
Hope you enjoy and don’t forget to check out the other designers over at the Gypsy Spot.

Cards with Christina 7/23/09

July 23, 2009

I was so excited to find another K&Co. paper pack. Oh how I love K&Co. I’m amazed how well Paper Trey Ink coordinates with this pattern paper. After I made the video and took all the pictures I added a crochet flower and brad to the ribbon of this card. It was one of those times when I thought I was done and about a day later decided it needed more.

Only 7 more days until the Valley Forge CK convention. I haven’t allowed myself to go to AcMoore or Michaels this month because of the convention. I need to save my money….OK I confess I have been to both stores this month, I’m so weak:(

Supplies: Ocean Tide and Lemon Tart CS-Paper Trey Ink, Lemon Tart Ribbon-Paper Trey Ink, K&Co. Lucky Flowers pattern paper, Cricut cartridge-Storybook, Fiskar Corner Rounder, Crochet flower.

Happy Crafting!

Cards with Christina-Video 7/19/09

July 19, 2009

I have a real simple Thank You card video today. It’s so easy and you can use whatever image you want to make this card. I bee buzzing, a training cho’ing, or a simply butterfly would look great too. If you don’t have a stamp for the stitching you can just use a black ultra thin tipped marker and make your own stitches.

Update: here is the link to the stamp set that has the stitching stamp.

Hope you enjoy.

Happy Crafting! Christina
