Cricut Explore Series Video #1 Overview

August 30, 2015

Hi Everyone,
Welcome to the first video in the Cricut Explore Series. Sorry this took so long to post. I had a minor error that I need to correct in the video and post.

Today’s video features an overview of the Cricut Explore machine. There is a Cricut Explore One that is slightly different than the Explore Air. You can find out more info about that from the chart below.
Enjoy

Clearly Besotted (Get Well Card)

August 25, 2015

Hi Everyone,
Today I have another Get Well card to share. I was planning on making some cards that do not have sentiments on the outside so I can set them aside and pull them out for emergencies. I would just have to stamp my sentiment on the inside and send it off. Little did I know I would need the first one I made right away.

Card details:
Standard A2 card base (4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″)
I stamped the flower images from the Clearly Besotted Delightful Day Stamp set using Memento Tuxedo Ink so I can copic color.
To add some layers to the card, I die cut with (yep you guessed it) my favorite die set from Simon Says Stamp in the 4 largest rectangle dies. I used a really bright copic quality white cardstock to do my coloring so I distressed the image panel with pumice stone ink after I die cut it.
The final touch was to add some twine around the piece and tie a bow.

The next video series is….

August 24, 2015

Drum roll please 🙂

Cricut Explore!!!!

It was a tie for which series to do next; Cricut Explore and Silhouette? I decided to do both 🙂
We’ll start with the Explore series this week and then move on to the Silhouette after that.

I’m in the process of filming the Explore series now and can tell you there are at least 8 videos…and that doesn’t include a few project videos either. Stay tuned later this week for the first video.

Just a note…
While working on the series, I will not be posting Stampin’ On Friday videos. This will give me time for editing videos, writing blog posts, and answering comments.

Videos will be posted 2x’s a week (maybe 3) during the series.

Thank you for all the well wishes on my dad. Unfortunately he wasn’t able to come home on Friday. Fingers crossed it’s today 🙂

Have a great day and see you back here soon 🙂

Before we get started…Here are a few deals going on at Cricut:

Summer Blowout sale:

Cricut Explore Bundle Sale:

Re-Released Retired Cartridges

and let’s not forget our free shapes of the week:

Categories are up and working again and what series do I work on next?

August 21, 2015

Hi Everyone,
There will not be a Stampin’ On Friday video this week. We had a little excitement in the family with my oldest nephew heading off to college and my dad in the hospital. It’s been a tough week but all is working out fine. Zach is getting settled at school and loves it. Dad unfortunately spent his birthday in the hospital, but the good news is he’s being released tomorrow.

Since I didn’t have a video for you today I thought I would post to let you know I’m finally done working on the categories and you can find all categories on the right hand side of the blog towards the bottom.

Cricut is back with an updated section above and video series are linked too. Click on Cricut in the upper right corner.
Thanks for being patience while I worked on them.

Now the question is what series do we work on next? Cricut Explore? a Cricut Catridge? or Silhouette? You name it, I want to know 🙂

Hugs and happy crafting.

Foiled Birthday Card

August 20, 2015

Hi Everyone,
Just a quick post today as it’s been a very crazy week and today is also my dad’s birthday.
So here is his card I made using the Minc Machine, Silver Foil, and a Laser Printer.

The card base is a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ standard card.
I used Adobe Photoshop and a basic font to create the birthday sentiment and printed it on Neenah Cardstock with my Laser Printer. I ended up getting a Laser Printer and love how much it’s added to the fun of my minc machine.
I used some pattern paper to matte the card base and then die cut the sentiment with a stitched die. For the balloons I die cut pattern paper and then used glossy accents to add the shine.

Heatwave Pen by We R Memory Keepers

August 17, 2015

Hi Everyone,
I hope you had a great weekend. Before I get to today’s video…
Friday we picked up my mom’s birthday present. Meet the newest member of her family 🙂
This is Frazier. He’s 4 months old and a little ball of fire.
He walked into my mom’s house on Friday and made himself at home. Sleeps on her head at night and plays all day. They get along great.
Then a little trip to the lake Saturday night and Sunday to enjoy the last few weeks of summer.
This is what it looked like nice and early on Sunday morning.
Now for today’s video.
I picked up the We R Memory Keepers Heatwave Pen a week or so ago, and played with it for a while. I think it’s a great little tool, but if you have a Minc machine I would not pick up the Heatwave tool. If you don’t have a Minc or would like to do handwriting with foil I would say go for it. Honestly I’m not 100% in love with it.
Here is the video to show you more about the pen.
