Hi Everyone,
Last week when I put up on my blog requests for video ideas someone (I’m so sorry I can’t find the email with who suggested this but I wanted to say Thank you for the great idea) suggested a monthly layout either single, double or even a mini album. One of my goals for 2011 is to actually start and finish a whole years worth of scrapbooking. So I printed out all my pictures for 2010 and I plan to scrap all of last year.
So here’s the challenge to you….Every month somewhere around the beginning of each month I will post a video tutorial of my completed scrapbook page for that month, you can either link your completed layout down below, or if you make videos on YouTube you can click HERE to respond to my video with your completed layout.
I thought this would be a great way for us to motivate each other and have some fun.
Here’s mine
You can link your project here
super nice, I just started trying to catch up on my scrapbooks too and I spent 4 hours doing a double page, at that rate I'll not catch up any time soon.Penny G
GREAT idea Christina! I am going to try and follow along as I have a ton of scrapbooking to catch up on.thanks again!Kris
Thank you! That a super, great idea! I'm in!
Rhonda H said….Christina, I love this idea! I need a little push to stay motivated! The fast motion bow-tying makes me giggle! Hey, would you be able to add subtitles to your tutorial-only portion? Like: I use a ____ sewing machine set on____ for paper. OR: I cut “family” at 3″. Also, we'd love to see the FINISHED LO with the photo arrangement. Thanks for all you do.
Oh, I feel so much better knowing you have a whole year to do and I'm struggling with getting September on out done! But you've printed your pictures and I've yet to select mine to print. Can't wait to see how all this goes. Thanks for the push.
I'm so excited about this! It seems like these days the only tutorials are on cards or minis. Thanks for the great idea – I'm excited to watch every month.Andrea
This is awesome…..but the only problem I have is…..I lost all my pictures to a computer virus…..know I didn't have them save which I will from now on…..but instead of 2010 maybe I can follow along with 2011….because I love this idea….tfs….
Love, love, love this idea! I hope I can motivate myself to follow along, I'm so far behind in scrapbooking! Now to print out some pictures.
This is a fabulous idea. I really could use some discipline in this area. I am going to try to play along. Thanks for this. Marcie
Love this idea! I get so addicted to making cards (thanks to you!) that I forget about making time for my albums. And I love my albums! Here's to catching up on 2010!
Hi Christina, I love watching your creations and your challenge sounds fun! When you are sewing on paper do you like to use a certain type of thread? TIA :Debi
I am soooo happy!!!! I have been scarpbooking only for a few yrs. got a cricut a yr ago. I have searched and searched for layouts because I do a month to month book and have since I started a few yrs ago. I am exstatic to see blogs finally taking a break from cards and showing layouts!! You have made my day!!
One of the things that has helped me complete a year in review album is by making a calendar for each year. So I cut the pages out of my 2010 album and then put them into an album. I can choose to add a page opposite the main one if I desire a double page, but otherwise I have a completed album of a year in review. Obviously it is of the previous year, so 2009, and now I am doing one with the 2010 best photos and events. Hope that helps, for those of us that always behind!! LOL!!
!!!!!WHAT A WOUNDERFUL IDEA!!!!!!ITS ALWAYS NICE TO DO APROJECT BUT ITS BETTER TO DO IT WITH OTHERS.I WILL BE WORKING ALONG SIDE OF YOU ALL….THANK YOU (CHRISTINA) FOR THE WOUNDERFUL CHALLENGE…….BE SEEING YOU.:)
Wow Christina, this sounds like something I need to get in on. I have been making cards and other craft all last year. My scrapbooking pages got pushed to the backburner. I think I will be working on my family's album this year. That will be my goal. Thanks for your inspiration! Bug Hugs!
YAY Christina! This was one of my wishes to see, more layouts and mini's! I'm so excited to see layouts…and I look forward to linking one of my own each month. ~shellyemailscrappyshelly at gmail dot com
Thank you Christina….this is an awesome idea! I think I will start with 2011, as I didn't take photos every month last year (for a scrapper, that's pretty bad, huh?!) I will link my project when I get it done. Keep up the great work!Hugs,Karenwww.smilesofsunshinescrapping.blogspot.com
Christina,That was a great idea from your subscriber! I'm looking forward to next month's scrapbbok page. And, I'm glad you're doing this because, I commented as well (when you asked for some suggestions) about doing some scrapbooking vids/tutorials. =) Thanks for sharing.-Samantha
Thank you so much for the video. The inspiration is great! Also I like the idea that we get to see the supplies and tools that you use. Sometimes I like a layout and cannot figure out what they used or how they did it. I will be doing this page for in my album. I cannot get my sewing machine to sew on paper correctly. Is there a certain tension that it has to be set at?Thanks a bunch. I will be back tomorrow!
That is my goal for 2011 too!! I want to be caught up or really close so I can be scrapping the memories while they happen.
Great idea. Really need to try and keep up with this one. –Ryansmaamagkburrow@cmaaccess.com
YEAH! 🙂 That was my suggestion! And, I love your first layout. What a great idea to sew on the paper too–that's like a two-for-one in my book because you are using all the big tools at once! Thanks for getting us all motivated! I will be adding my pages this weekend!
This is a GREAT idea!!!!!and your page turned out great….
Christina, Thanks for the great challenge. I was just thinking to myself-Wow I have a new Grandson arriving next month and I am still working on my 1st Grandson's books. Thanks for the motivation. I posted a link to my blog of my 1st page of 2011. Thanks Traci
Nice page. I do 6 scrapbooks. I do one for each grandkid. I do scrapbooking once a month. Thanks for sharing.bobbylu62@ligtel.com
Great page…and great idea. I'm definitely in…I'm soooo behind in scrapping my pages. I'll be posting mine soon! Thanks for keeping us focused!~Sharon C.
Love this idea and look forward to seeing the tutorials each month. I really love this layout and will probably have to scraplift this one for one of my pages.
This is a wonderful idea. I am new to scrapbooking and I enjoy your videos so much.barbara614@insightbb.com
Love it.
Great idea I am going to try and get my LO done before the end of the month LOL I just got a gypsy and trying to design with it (with i am determined to do) is taking me longer then just doing the LO 'by hand' but I am determined!!
great project idea. Ok, I will do my best. I won't be starting from the beginning but I will make it a goal to finish my 2007 book. Once I'm done with that book I will continue with 2008. (i'm super behind) I will do a layout a month. 🙂 Love the page you made. You make the sewing look so simple. I'm so intimidated by it. Thanks for sharing!Liz
Wonderful challenge! I wil be doing this but I can't post and videos until I update my camcorder. Have had a wonderfully eventfull past year and want to scrap it anyway. Will get them on as soon as i can. Thanks,Leslie
Christina,Great idea. I love your LO. I have done only 2 pages ever. Seems like a great challenge for me. Now, I just need to dig thru my photosHugsStacy
