CWC 11/4/12 Home is where the heart is

November 5, 2012

Happy Monday everyone,
I hope you all had a great weekend. I took some time here and there this weekend to play in my craft room. I didn’t get whole day but I took the opportunities when I could and really enjoyed my time. Yesterday I felt like making a video just to make it, not for a series or any other reason, but to have fun…

Well here is today’s video. Enjoy 🙂

Project Life: I won’t be doing videos anymore on Project Life. There doesn’t seem to be much of an interest in them to take the time to make them, but if you have been following and want to see my pages I do post them on Instragram is you want to check them out. My IG name is Christina_Thomas1.

Have a great day everyone,
Hugs, Christina

Stampin' on Friday 11/2/12 Happy Hexagons

November 2, 2012

Hi Everyone,
Okay I have to admit I’m not sure if I even like how this card came out? It is kind of growing on me but I’m still not sure if I like it. Maybe better with vintage cream cardstock and soft blush ink? My heart (get it heart, I used them on the card, boooo I know) just wasn’t in it.

It did give me the opportunity to share with you the link to all the information when this set was released (Click here) and to share the video (Click here) on how to properly use the Stamp set and Die.

Have a great day everyone.
Hugs and happy crafting,

Stamp Storage Update

October 31, 2012

Hi Everyone,
We made it through the storm. The wind Monday night was unreal and we did have a little damage to the house but nothing major. We are all safe and I’m glad its over. The one thing that scares me the most is wind….

For the past few weeks little by little I’ve been working on my stamp storage. My dvd/cd racks from Ikea had gotten pretty filled and I still had two buckets of stamps on my desk that where not in cases. So I decided it was time to get working on them and get all my stamps back in one place.

Here is a video on how my system looks now.
Watch below | Watch on You Tube

I can’t remember who I found out about the DVD cases from but thank you.  I ordered the cases from Tapeoneline.com. They have quick shipping services and I usually get them within 3-4 days, I’ve ordered from them a few times and I have yet to get a broken case.
You can also pick up cd cases from them as well. If you want to save a little money order the cases without the hub (tray), I haven’t tried these cases yet so I can’t speak for them. Remember you don’t want to order the slimline cases they are too thin.

Some storm pictures.
We have this ugly planter on the side of our house right at the end of the driveway and those rail ties are all bolted together, two of them came off and if you look in the upper left corner that is my car. Didn’t hit it but was really close.

We lost some siding. All night long that is all I heard. Bang, Bang, Bang Scott finally had to go outside at 1:30 in the morning and grab one piece that was hanging down making the most noise.

Some of our siding we found was in the neighbors yard…

Thats all I have for today. Have a great day everyone 🙂
Hugs and happy crafting,

Hurricane Sandy

October 29, 2012

Hi Everyone,
Sorry no video today. We spent Saturday together as a family on a train ride and then yesterday preparing for Hurricane Sandy that is expected to hit us later today. It’s looking to be pretty bad. We normally don’t have Hurricane like weather here, they usually downgrade or weaken to tropical storms by the time they reach PA but this one is coming at us full force. We are expecting lots of rain and high winds between today and tomorrow night. Schools have already been closed for today and tomorrow so Ethan is on his way to work with me this morning and we plan to get home early before the nasty of weather starts.

Here are a few photos from our train excursion we took on Saturday. It was lots of fun.

Scott, Ethan, and I on the train

Ethan’s squished quarter that was run over by the train.
The engine being moved to the back of the train for the ride home

The train on the roundtable getting ready to be put back for tomorrow’s excursion.

The trip was so much fun. You take a 40 minute ride and stopped at a depot not to far away from here. They have stands set up where you can buy lunch and hot cocoa and then watch the engine being switched from one end of the train to the other. It was a lot of fun to watch. After you get back you can go to the round house and watch the train on the roundtable be moved back inside. They have to put the train inside to keep the coals going as it was being used again for the next days excursion.

Well we are off to work and then back home to settle in for the storm. Be safe to all of you in the path of this hurricane.
Hugs,
Christina

Stampin' on Friday (10/26/12) Falling for you

October 26, 2012

Hi Everyone,
Happy Friday 🙂
I’m really back in the video making spirit….3 videos in one week. WOW! it’s been a very long time since I’ve done that 🙂 Feels good.
Today’s Stampin’ On Friday video features the Paper Trey Ink stamp set called Floral Foliage. Such a great little stamp set that can be used anytime during the year. Also the Kelly Purkey’s Autumn set from Simon Says Stamps that came out in September for their Stamptember celebration is great for cards or just about anything scrappy related.
Enjoy today’s video 🙂

B is for Birthday Bear

October 25, 2012

Happy Thursday everyone,
I hope you are having a wonderful week. It’s unseasonably warm this week. It’s very spring like out even though the leaves are almost gone, but we are enjoying it. We’re looking at cooler weather next week just in time for Halloween 🙂

Today’s project is a card I made for my niece who celebrated her birthday over the weekend. I can’t believe how big the kids are getting in my family. The youngest is now 9.

October Afternoon’s Cakewalk collection is just the cutest. I used it a few weeks ago on a Project Life layout during my birthday week and I’m really happy to have another excuse to use it again.

The background of this card is done with the Sunshine die from Paper Trey Ink. I sewed the pieces on to printer paper that I cut down to the size I wanted it to be for the card. The sewing was a little time consuming because I had to keep stopping every three or so sections to pull the strings through so it didn’t get knotted up.
My niece thought the card was the coolest. I love hearing “Look it’s a Tina Card”. lol
Have a great day everyone, before I leave for work I want to pull out some stuff for tomorrow’s Stampin’ on Friday video so that I can think about it all day and come up with a plan for a card.
Hugs and happy crafting,
Christina
