CWC 11/26/12 Christmas Gift Bags

November 26, 2012

Happy Monday Everyone,
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I have a few Christmas gifts that will need gift bags so I decided to make a few of my own with materials I had on hand rather than going out and buying them. Here is a video on how I put together the one above 🙂 I put to good use the little tags I made with the leftovers from my holiday cards.

I hope you enjoyed today’s video.
Let me tell you about our Thanksgiving. We had a wonderful time at my parent’s house with my sister, brother and his family. You know how there is always one thing that goes wrong during the holidays…Wednesday the smoke/CO detector went off saying there is CO in the house…ugh…we called the gas company and they came out and checked to find no CO in the house. Yeah!!!! Thanksgiving day around 12:30 in the afternoon beep beep beep….NO!!!!! This time we left the windows closed like the guy the day before told us and called the gas company…he didn’t find any CO either. He goes and checks the furnace and notices something is wrong and says…I can’t leave you like this…we’re going to have to shut it down…WHAT!!!! so to make a long story short this poor/kind man stayed for two hours Thanksgiving day and managed to temporarily fix our furnace so not to have to leave us without but we will have to have it replaced. Luckily our faulty detector went off before something major happened. On the upside it is the very last large expense that we knew we would have to do sooner or later in the house. At least it will be safe and we’ll be toasty warm this winter. So that was my Thanksgiving holiday, we didn’t let it ruin our family time and we already have three estimates in the works for the new furnace.
Friday mom and I did some major xmas shopping. We started out at 5 am Friday morning and shopped for almost 9 hours.  We are happy to report that we are done and ready for gift giving. Just need to wrap those presents. The tree is up and the house is decorated, let the holiday begin.

I hope you all have a great day.
Hugs and happy crafting,

December Daily Tags

November 21, 2012

Hi Everyone,
Tomorrow is the big day, turkey day 🙂 Friday mom and I are hitting the stores for Black Friday shopping, and then Friday night when I’m just about ready to crash from a shopping marathon Scott, Ethan and I put up the tree. Just the lights so that Saturday I’m ready to go with decorating the house from top to bottom. We did the outside lights this past weekend.
Today I wanted to share with you what I worked on over the weekend. They are my tags for my December Daily album. I’m working my way backwards with the dates and still have more to go (lots more). I’m using the December Countdown stamp set from paper trey ink and stamped them out using Scarlet Jewel and Ripe Avocado ink. I alternated the colors and the wreaths so each one looks a little different. Then I cut  out a whole bunch of different die shapes using PTI dies in vintage cream cardstock which I inked with walnut stain ink and I’m using to make my tags.

Here are my Christmas Eve and Day tags. I stamped out December in PTI kraft ink on all the tags and also added to these the Christmas Eve and Day stamps. For the 25th I used Tag Sale #3 die, added some seam binding that I dyed to match the scarlet jewel ink color, some snowflake wood veneers, and then stamped Santa using the Santa Stationary stamp set also from PTI. The 24th is a real simple look with just some glitter on the edges of the die cut.

Here is a picture of all the ones I got done so far. Still have lots more to do and hope to get a little time in my room today after I drop Ethan off at school and hit the grocery store.

Have a great day everyone. I probably won’t have any other finished projects this week as the rest of the week will be spent with family but I’ll be back next week.
Hugs,
Christina

CWC 11/19/12 Winter Hills (Video)

November 19, 2012

Good Monday everyone,
I can’t believe its Thanksgiving week already. Is the turkey purchased? My 22lb turkey is in the fridge defrosting 🙂 Dinner is at mom’s but I’m making the turkey here this year so that mom can work on everything else (like those yummy apple pies).
So who went to see Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2 this weekend? I went with my sister and niece on Saturday and I want to see it again. It was fabulous, but I won’t say anything just in case you didn’t see it yet..Okay enough yacking…
Ready for today’s video :)Be sure to watch to the very end…I added a few little funnies from the video.

November 16, 2012

Hello Hello 🙂
It’s Friday 🙂 Yahoo and it’s the weekend. Today I work in the morning and then this afternoon mom and I are running to the farmer’s market to pick up apples for mom’s famous apple pie 🙂 yummy. I can’t believe Thanksgiving is less than a week away. Who’s going shopping Black Friday? Mom and I do it every year. Our first time going we said never again. The following year we went again and said never again…We’ve been doing that ever since lol.
Today I have a super quick video showing Christmas Tags I made using the leftover snow globe pieces from my Christmas Cards (Click HERE to see that video)

December Daily Cover

November 14, 2012

Hi Everyone,
Today I’m sharing the front of my December Daily/Scrapbook album. You know I’m still torn on if I want to call it a December Daily or just make it a holiday scrapbook. I can’t decide?

Here are a few pictures of my front cover.
I added some pattern paper from the Teresa Collins Christmas Cottage 6×6 paper pad to the 4×4 picture slot. I’m going with the deeper reds and greens for my album.

Next I used from old Thicker raw chipboard # stickers and glittered them up using some Martha Stewart smokey quartz glitter. It’s probably one of my favorite glitter colors by Martha.
At first I was going to put the #’s in the bottom right corner but changed my mind later.
Then…
Added some green ribbon on the side of my album 🙂
Next it was time to decorate the 4×4 slot. I removed the clear acetate sheet.
Using a Paper Trey Ink die set called “seeing stars” I cut out the stars using canvas that I picked up at Joann’s. Added a brad from the Crate Paper brad collection and then finally stamped out “A December to remember” sentiment on a tag I picked up this past summer on our trip to New York.
Here is the end result of the front cover of my album.
I added the 2012 to the tag instead of the bottom corner and then a kraft button with some green twine to the ribbon. I’m really happy with how it came out.

I’m off to work. I really want to stay home and play more with my album but alas I have two meetings today and need to get my boy off to school.
Have a great day everyone,
Hugs and happy crafting,

Christmas Cards Video (Sending Holiday Joy)

November 12, 2012

Hi Everyone,
I hope everyone had a great weekend. Last night we took Ethan with two of his friends to see Wreck it Ralph. What a cute movie, I think Scott laughed the hardest.
I was able to make two videos this weekend. The first video is my Christmas cards that I will be sending out this year. This will be the first time I ever made my Christmas cards to send. I’ve never done that. Always said I was going to but never had the time.
Here is a video on the mass production of 20 cards. It’s a long video 🙂

Watch Below | Watch on You Tube

I’m going to put Stampin’ on Friday and the Cameo series videos on hold until the New Year. Only so that I can continue to make fun videos like this one and just post them when I have them done. This one was going to be a Stampin’ on Friday video but I didn’t want to wait until Friday 🙂

I’m heading out to do a little Christmas shopping today and making a little stop at the craft store while I’m out. I need some yarn to knit my awesome friend a scarf and some green satin ribbon for the front of my Christmas Album.
Have a great day everyone 🙂
Hugs and happy crafting,

Stampin' on Friday 11/9/12 Owl I want for Christmas…

November 9, 2012

Hi Everyone,
Happy Friday 🙂 So what do you have planned this weekend? We are going to see Wreck it Ralph this weekend 🙂

I know I mentioned this already but I’ve got Christmas spirit big time. I can’t wait to decorate the house and start wrapping presents and just spending time with the family. I’m super excited and was kind of holding off on starting Christmas projects. I think I didn’t want to start because then it would be over sooner, but with planning my scrapbook of the holidays I realized it won’t be as I’ll probably be still working on that after Christmas. So here we go with today’s video and my first Christmas card of the season 🙂

I did do some searching for that Pine Tree die I used but didn’t find anyone that I was familiar with to order it from so you may want to google search it (Shapeabilities Pine Tree).
Have a great weekend everyone 🙂
Hugs and happy crafting,

December Daily Prep Video

November 7, 2012

Hi Everyone,
I’m so in the Christmas spirit. Last night I had Christmas music playing and just enjoyed some time in my craft room prepping for my holiday album. It’s not going to really be a December Daily, I decided I’m just doing a holiday memories scrapbook and not so much a daily thing during the month of December. However I am thinking I want to make a page in my album that has our thoughts or notes or something like that each day of December up to Christmas. I’ll have to think about that one.

The picture above was my bin that I tossed everything in while I was collecting supplies and it was overflowing, so last night I started to organize and did a quick (okay not a quick) video of my supplies and plans.
Watch Below | Watch on You Tube.

I hope you enjoyed that video and it gave you some ideas of what you might want to do for your holiday album.
If you want to see my album from last year click HERE

Have a great day everyone.
