Hi Everyone,
I noticed a layer of dust (yuck) on my Silhouette and figured I would do a little google searching for a Silhouette cover. I didn’t really see anything I liked but came across these instructions on how to sew one for the SD machine. If you remember in my 2011 Fav’s video I mentioned that I wanted to learn how to sew and that my old machine hated me. My new machine and I are getting along just fine…
I used the same pattern as the one I found for the SD but did a little of my own measuring to make a cover for the Cameo.
I’d say it probably took me about an hour to make and that was going with the really really slow speed on my sewing machine.
I’m pretty happy with it. I think it needs a little flower or something like that to dress it up.
Thanks for stopping by,
Hugs,

Oh my……I'm speechless. No really, I AM!!!! Sis this is BEAUTIFUL!! I'm going to have to make me one of these. YES, a flower (maybe out of felt) would be perfect. Have a wonderful day π Hugs, T
wow, how cool! I just finished taking some dust off of mine…and was pretty annoyed. This is a great idea. I love the pattern you chose. and “yes” a flower would look really nice too.Liz
Perfect timing – I just dusted my scrapping room and I've got to cover my Cameo too – hope I can figure out something as cute as you made! And I agree, a flower would add just the right touch!Jackie
Great job Cristina! I am on the look at for a silhouette SD or the Cameo. I wish the prices for the cameo would come down just a little so if you know of a good price for either or please let me know.
Great job! I've had a sewing machine for over 4 years now that I haven't used because it's electric & it's intimidating. Have been wanting to bring it out & sew a cover for my expression, but now I have the Cameo, so I would like to sew one for it as well. May I ask where you got the pattern & what additional measurements you used?Puppy Hugs,Wendywendydotroos2boys@gmaildotco
I love the pattern of the fabric. What kind of sewing machine did you get?
Wow, you did a great job. Your fabric choice is gorgeous.
I am so impressed Christina. Even with a pattern I'm not sure I could make one of these. I love the pattern on the material. The teal color is just screaming for a flower!
Great job! And lovely fabric!
I have a Brother CS60000i machine. I love it :)Hugs, Christina
Hi Wendy, I didn't write the measurements down, but I think they are something like 23″ x 16″ or 18″. I can't really remember what the exact measurements where. For the sides I took a piece of paper and made a template and then added 1/2″ for sewing…Hope that helps. Hugs, Christina
Love the cover Christina. I also want to thank you for your videos – I have learned so much here! Keep them coming!!
PRETTY!!!! TFSWhat happened to Mondays silhouette class?
Love the pattern you picked.
Oh, it looks great! Definitely a flower or two. π Thanks for the link.
Great job. My niece got a Cricut Cake for Christmas and I have some vinyl to make her a cover for it, just have to sit down and get it done. This post just gave me a kick in the pants, so maybe tonight when my son is home, we'll get it done. It's a gift from him, so he's going to be doing a good deal of it with me.
What a beautiful cover- I don't have a silhouette but would live to have one… Maybe someday..
Only took an hour, eh?! You have just inspired me to make one for my Cameo too. I think I have some leftover fabric somewhere.
ooo i'm waiting on delivery of my Cameo…sooo excited i'd love to have this waiting…can i have your measurments please…if you remember them
The cover looks great! Ive been looking at the Cameo! It looks like a great machine and I think the print and cut feature would be fabulous.TFSDiania
That is really clever! I need to do sort of the same thing with our printer… it's collecting a lot of dust as well. Thanks for the idea!
