One of my favorite things is seam binding. I just love it…It’s not too bulky and works great on just about any project. The best part is I can dye them to be any color I want.
Here is a quick video on how to dye your own seam binding and different types of inks you can use
Watch below | Watch on You Tube
I ordered my seam binding from Sew True.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great Monday

HEY SISSY!!!!! Love this video and that Scattered Straw color is one of my favorites too…..matches October Afternoon nicely 🙂 Big hugs, T
Another great idea!! I took your idea of dyeing paper to make those crinkle flowers and love them. I don't have the supplies you do, but I found using Wax paper and just wetting it and stamping my tim holtz inks directly on the wax paper works just fine too. I don't have re inkers and for those of us that don't thought I'd pass this on, that it works fine too.
Thanks so much for this video and the how to's! And thanks also for the source…I've been looking for rolls of that stuff!
I did a video on this on my You Tube channel but I put mine in zip lock bags and dry it in the oven. I need to get some rubber gloves. Thanks for showing me another way to do it. Try the oven sometime. You get a nice little brown on the edges.
Oh I left the comment to fast. I never used Glimmer Mist or Lindy's. I will have to try that.

thanks for the info on seam binding. I cannot wait to see cards you have made using the binder. What was the name of the white decorative trim you used on the last part of your video? I love it and would love to get some. Thanks.

Thanks for the video. I even like the idea of reusing the Glimmer Mist bottle for water. Those little water sprayers can get expensive!

very cool, tfs 🙂
Nice to be able to make your own colors. Especially like the teal color you made & gathered ribbon you colored. In a class I took with Tim Holtz last yr we did this with ribbon & the paint dabbers and used the colored ribbon to tie onto the pages of a journal book we made.
Wow, what a great idea. I love that we can do this to match any project!!
Very cool thank you for sharing 🙂
Just a quick note to let you know that a link to this post will be placed on CraftCrave in the Cutting category today [19 Jul 01:00am GMT]. Thanks, Maria
Thanks for sharing your awesome video and technique! FYI, I found the same ribbon on Etsy for a better price. The seller is “zipperstop”: $7.95+$3.75(S&H)=$11.70. (as opposed to $15.50 @ Sew True) I love a good bargain and wanted share that info. 🙂
Thank you for sharing these tips with us….all of those are fantastic ……and thank you for the link to buy the ribbon….
Thanks for the great video on coloring the seam binding. I wondered if there is a particular amount of seam binding that you color at a time. In the video you were just cutting random amounts, but when you do batches, do you do a yard at a time or couple of yards? Thanks for sharing!
Fantastic tutorial! I learned a lot and am inspired to give this a try. Thanks Christina!HeatherM
What a great way to get matching textile material. TFS
Thanks for the great video Christina. The colors you used are gorgeous! I will be ordering some soon and trying this out! Sabrina
