Cricut Smiley Card

November 2, 2010

Hi Everyone,
After about an hour of trying to download and update my Gypsy on my MAC, following some instructions for Mac users on the MB, and finally just giving up and going to my hubbies PC to download the synch software, I finally updated my Gypsy…..Woot Woot! So did everyone download their 6 free cartridges?

Since I had my G out and Smiley Cards on the screen I played with welding the “XO” image into a shaped card. I kept it really simple since I was just making sure everything was working fine and everything cut perfectly…

Here is the Card…

I used some cardstock (it could be SU?) that I had in my stash and some old Stampin’ Up! ribbon.

The faces I stamped with Peachy Keen Stamps
(Everyday Faces)
Have a great day…
PS I’m not sure it Provo extended the 6 free cartridge promotion? With the site being down most of the day, I’m thinking they will?

Rhonda H said…Christina, I saw where ProvoCraft is working on a CricutSync for MAC, but it is not ready yet. I would say they would have to extend the 6 free cartridges download for MAC=ies, at least!!! I was on the Cricut mb and saw that many were having problems downloading the new sync even using pc's. I have a MAC and am chomping at the bit to get the free cartridges on my Gypsy. Keep us informed of any new stuff, okay? Thanks!

I REALLY love this card as I am a BIG XO-using Gram!! (always put lots of them on cards to our DGDs since they are in Texas and we're in Missouri.) I, too, am a VERY FRUSTRATED Mac user. When will they build the link for us? When? When? (I already own four of the FREE carts anyway…but I want smiley cards sooo badly!)Also: do we know when the dancing cart will arrive?

This card is just too adorable. I'm awaiting my Peachy Keen stamps any minute now so you know I'll be scraplifting! Terrified to try to get the free cartridges on an update. I think PC said the offers only good for a few weeks. Maybe I'll be brave and try to get them later on. Thanks for sharing your great work with us.

Thank you so much for posting this Christina! I love it! The colors are yummy together. I tried to play with that cart last night, but I had a really hard time since I didn't have any reference as to what the images were except bouncing around the overlays on my Gypsy. Thanks for the inspiration….it is wonderful!

Great card, Christina. I finally got my Gypsy updated this morning at work. Tried for several hours last night. Couldn't decide if it was my computer or Provo's website, but it would never connect to my Gypsy. Had bad storm last night so didn't have internet at home this morn so took everything to work and had smooth update. Think I see a new computer in my future.(Oh Santa, Baby!!!)Sorry about rambling. Hope to play tonight.

What a cute card! Can't wait to make it. I too am a Mac user and was pulling my hair out last night to update my gypsy. GRRR. I'm encouraged to read that I'm not the only one although I am anxious for them to get it fixed for the Mac. Can't believe I'm saying this but I wish I had a PC just to do the updates! 🙂

I love it. I was able to download my free carts yesterday. My problem is I always look at the images in the handbook. Smiley Cards does not have one. I would really greatly appreciate if you make more cards with it or maybe…? you could come up with some kind of a PDF file with layered images? Thanks,Tatiana

Christina, thank you for posting this card. I got my gypsy right after they came out and haven't really used it. This card made me want to try… so I got it out and updated it (and it all worked, YEAH!!!) I was able to weld the 2 pieces together and cut out the card base and the shadow. (I welded mine at the top) The card came out pretty cute. I used the peachie Keen face stamps also. Super cute! Thanks again for posting such a cute card.Sylvia

Hi Christina, I just got a plea from a really nice fellow crafter on my blog asking for help in sending a 3 yr. old little boy with a brain tumor some cards. I did not know where to post this as I am new to blogging. I really wanted to reach out to other fellowcrafters on her behalf. Please go to my blog to see her letter. Maybe we can make him smile! Thank you Dina
