Watercoloring stamped image

Hi Everyone,
Happy Thursday 🙂
Today’s card is a little watercoloring fun. I still need to practice playing with watercoloring but I had a lot of fun with this one.
{Supplies used for this project are listed below to multiple shopping sources)
I started off by taping the watercolor paper on my kitchen cutting board with some FrogTape and stamped out with Stazon black ink the little girl from “You have my heart” by My Favorite Things.
Taping the watercolor paper to the board kept it from warping too much when I added all the water for coloring.

I wanted to extend the grass so I used the straight line from Lawn Fawn’s “Hello Sunshine” stamp set and stamped it on either side connecting it with the grass from the MFT stamp. I was pretty proud of myself for lining that up 🙂
I started by using Spun Sugar and Antique Linen Distress Markers to color in the skin tone. Probably not the best colors for skin tone, but it’s what I had on hand.
Using a really thin paint brush and the Gansai Watercolor paints, I painted in the little girl’s hair and her adorable little puppy.
I decided not to play around too much by watercoloring the little girl’s outfit (I didn’t want to test my luck after how well the hair and puppy came out) so I did some fussy cutting of the outfit using Lawn Fawn papers.

Once I was done with the main image I watercolored the grass and sky with the Gansai watercolors. I die cut the watercolor piece using some Mama Elephant dies and then layered that on Lawn Fawn papers that matched what I fussy cut.

Final touch was to add some clouds to the sky with white embossing powder and I thought adding the little heart from MFT’s stamp set was a cute touch and coordinated with the sentiment. My water color piece was mounted on to a standard A2 sized card using Neenah cardstock.
