You are amazing

July 30, 2013

Hi Everyone
Last night I felt like sitting down and playing. It was really nice to sit down and just craft to craft. Only problem is I made a huge mess for a simple card. Ahh even the huge mess made it lots of fun.

I pulled out a Simon Says Stamp die called Falling Stars. I must be on a stars kick this week. Because of the shape of the die it created this little indent in the cardstock when I ran it through my Big Shot.

I was just about ready to try again and thought I would try embossing it…Gotta love Paper Trey Ink’s Impressions plates. It might be kind of hard to see in the photos, but it gave it a really nice texture and hid the indents from the star die.

Wrapping some seam binding gave it a really nice touch and the arrow from Stampin’ up was a perfect…okay really the arrow was to hide a small tear I put in the cardstock. lol 🙂

I mounted the die cut piece to a standard A2 (4-14″ x 5-1/2″) card base and then pulled out a piece of black chalkboard style paper from the I heart summer paper pad by Simple Stories to do some white embossing with an Ali Edwards Technique Tuesday stamp.

Finally I added some dashed lines with my white gel pen and I was very happy with the results.
Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great day

Happy Monday, I’m late posting my video today. We had a little bit of a family weekend and went to Longwood Gardens here in PA yesterday and then today celebrated Scott’s 50th birthday (It’s actually Wednesday) with a late lunch and a little shopping this afternoon. It was a wonderful weekend 🙂

Thanks so much

July 19, 2013

Hi Everyone,
Hope you had a wonderful week. It’s been super hot here. Yesterday I think we hit 97 degrees. Yikes…

Super fun and simple card for you today. I’ve been having a great time playing around with my stash and using stuff that I purchased forever ago and never really got around to playing with.
Ready for a video?

Have a great weekend.

Scrap Room Organizing 8-1/2 x 11 Cardstock

July 15, 2013

Hi Everyone,
Happy Monday, Today’s video focuses one just 8-1/2 x 11 cardstock and how I use sheet protectors to store my full sheets and scraps.
Watch Below| Watch on You Tube

Click HERE to see the full Scrap Room Organizing Playlist.

I’ve been using this system for a long time now and it really works for me. Makes it easier to find scraps and keeps the card stock from bending.

Also I wanted to share with you a video the awesome Miss Teri (TeriBeri2 on You Tube) shared this past weekend. She’s organized all her die cuts by color and you know how I am about organizing…I totally did this and it’s a great storage solution for all the die cuts you have around.

Thats all I have for today 🙂 Have a great Monday 🙂

Hello Birdie {VIDEO}

July 12, 2013

Hi Everyone,
Sometimes you just have to pull out some old dies and play. I really had no idea what I wanted to create for this weeks card but I knew I needed to do something different. So I rummaged around in my sizzix dies and pulled out two of Tim Holtz’s Alterations dies.

Watch Below | Watch on You Tube

Hope you enjoyed today’s video 🙂 Trying pulling out some older dies that you haven’t played with in a while and create something fun.
A few photos of the finished card:

Have a great weekend 🙂
Hugs,

Scrap Room Organizing: Pattern Paper Storage

July 8, 2013

Hi everyone,
Hope you all had a great weekend and a wonderful 4th of July 🙂

Today’s video is a project I worked on Saturday evening. I was sorting out some pattern paper that I wanted to purge from my collection and decided while I was at it I would try out organizing my 12×12 pattern paper by color instead of company. I can already tell I love this way of organizing better. I found so many things that I can’t wait to use on some layouts.
Here is a video showing my process:
Watch below | Watch on You Tube

I was checking around on Oriental Trading‘s site and couldn’t find the paper storage system I currently use. I do know you can buy the Cropper Hopper style at Joann’s and Michael’s.

Thanks for stopping, have a great day 🙂

Scrap Room Organizing: Die Storage Update (Again)

July 4, 2013

Hi Everyone,
Today’s video is a little update to my die storage system.
This revision to my system was inspired by a video that Jennifer McGuire did last week showing how she stores her stamp sets (Check out her blog).

Watch Below | Watch on You Tube

Here is the system I posted a few weeks back:
Watch Below | Watch on You Tube

You can see the original posting on this HERE

Here are the supplies I used:
Crate came from Target
CD Sleeves
Plastic File Folders (From Big Lots)
Label Maker (Dymo)

I really like this system and will stick with this one for a long time to come.

I may not have a Stampin’ on Friday video for you this week. I’m going to try and get one together but we are leaving for a few days of family time Thursday afternoon and I still need to pack everything to take with us. We will see how the day plays out tomorrow (or today when you read this)
Have a great 4th of July.
Hugs to all,
Christina
