Hi All,
You probably remember over the summer when I re-did my craft room (HERE is the video with the stuff I picked up at TJ Maxx over the summer and HERE is the full room tour). I had purchased a few of these really cute black desk accessories and I love them. I picked up another one (two) this weekend and did a little organizing. I was surprised TJMaxx and Marshal’s still had them since they usually sell out of stuff quick and they don’t restock.

Okay now doesn’t that Making Memories caddy just stick out like a sore thumb? Really white!!!

I painted it…Yep I did…
I have the older Making Memories caddy that Michael’s use to sell a while back. It has a flat finish so it was all ready to be painted without having to sand.
First I took off all the hardware. Don’t ya just love my girly screwdriver 🙂
Then I used regular acrylic craft paint (FolkArt Licorice to be exact) that you would buy at the craft store and I have to say it came out pretty nice. I’m waiting to see how it holds up and if I’ll need to give it a clear coat. I’m hoping I don’t have to clear coat it just in case I want to change the color again.
Here is what it looks like after painting and all filled up with my tools.
I’m very happy with how it came out. I was working at my desk today and so far no chips out of the paint.
