Hi Everyone,
Happy Tuesday. Today’s my favorite scrap tools post is all about adhesive. I love adhesive and you can’t paper craft without it 🙂
Okay let’s jump in. Scor Tape….Amazing! I have in my stash two different sizes…the 1/8″ tape that I use more than any other size Scor Tape and the 1/2″ tape. Scor tape for me is used mainly on big projects that I want to make sure are sturdy and will stay adhered. It’s similar to the red sticky tape but I find I like Scor Tape much better because I can tear it with my fingers rather than reaching for a pair of scissors.
Dimensional or 3D foam adhesive. I love the 3D foam squares. If you are familiar with Stampin’ Up’s dimensionals you’ll like the 3D foam squares by Scrapbook Adhesives too. They come in two colors, black and white. The white foam is all one size and the black foam comes in a variety pack with two different sizes. What I like about these is they are a little bigger than SU’s pops and I don’t feel like I need to use as many to keep my embellishment secured. I also like American Crafts Foam Tabs when I want something to pop off the page a little more than the 3d foam squares. These also come in a variety pack of sizes.
Next is Scotch Quick Dry…Oh I love me my Scotch Quick Dry. I started using this a few years ago when I found it at Big Lots for $1 a bottle. That was a one time buy because I’ve never seen it there again. You can find it at your local craft store or online though. Its great for anything you need a liquid glue for. I started using it for my mini album pages but I use it all the time now for adding small embellishments to projects.
We can’t forget about Zig 2-way glue pen. I use this pen when I’m working with diecut pieces. Its great for those little tiny pieces you cut with your Cricut and Silhouette machines.
Last but not least is my ATG gun. I’ve been using an ATG for several years and I love it. Yes it’s a little big and bulky but I do love how well the tape holds. One questions I get asked a lot is where do I order my refills? I get them from Crop and Stick. Here is a link to the refills I use. I always use the acid free so I don’t have to worry about changing out the rolls for cardmaking or scrapbooking.
Right now I’m on the hunt for a new mini roller. I use the Tombo Mono runner but it seems like the adhesive isn’t the best quality like it used to be. I’ll have to keep hunting for something to replace it.
Have a great day and I hope you enjoyed my ramblings on adhesive.
Hugs,
