Craftroom Closet Makeover

October 31, 2011

Hi Everyone,
Happy Halloween,
Ethan will be getting dressed this morning for his school parade. I can’t wait to see him as a 1950’s greaser with his hair slicked…

Well Friday we got SNOW! already, it’s very unusual for us to have snow this early. Flurries yes, but not 7 inches. At least it didn’t stick to much to the streets and it’s melted almost is some areas.

I’ve been waiting for a snow day to take everything out of my closet and paint it, then put up more shelving.

so…
Here’s what it looked like before.

I had five shelves and a cube organizer….
as you can see from the white sections on the walls, whoever owned the house before us, painted around the closet shelving that was in there. We took that down a while ago and added shelves.
Now here’s what it looks like
I painted the closet the same color as my room. Only took about an hour or so.
Scott did a little measuring and discovered that I could add shelving to the side wall, so now I have 10 shelves and was able to move tons of stuff from my room that I don’t use with my everyday crafting to the closet.

I was also able to add my JetMax cubes that I use for my Sizzix dies.

Here’s a better picture of the side wall.

Hope you have a great day 🙂

Stampin' On Friday (10/28/11) Warmest Winter Wishes

October 28, 2011

Hi Everyone,
Boy is it cold here in NEPA. There is talk of some snow for tomorrow. I think in my area it’s just a few flurries, but still it’s snow! With that I just had to make a snowman card using the new Shape-Up stamp and die from PTI. I hear this die is out of stock, but they’ll get them back in stock 🙂

Now for today’s video.

Card Organizer Box

October 26, 2011

Hi Everyone,
I haven’t had a chance since last week to craft 🙁

I do have something to share with you today 🙂 A few weeks ago I was looking through my completed cards and couldn’t find a card I had made for someone (I did eventually find it). I was so frustrated and thought I better get these cards organized.

I don’t have tons of cards pre-made because I generally give them as soon as I make them, but for the cards I do have in my stash…

I took one of my Ikea boxes and made dividers for each of the type of cards I have pre-made.

I used “From my Kitchen” Cricut cartridge to make the dividers. I don’t have the exact dimensions, but basically I measured the width and depth of the box and used my Gypsy to cut them.

Good news is my Paper Trey Ink order is coming today. Maybe a haul video for you tomorrow 🙂

Hugs,

CWC (10/24/11 Card Organizer and video

October 24, 2011

Happy Monday,
Today’s project is a card organizer I made for my dad. Since dad is in a wheelchair he can’t get out and get cards for holidays and special occasions and he’s always asking me to make him cards that he can give to my mom. I thought I would make him a book that would hold a whole year’s worth of cards. Now I just need to make the cards 🙂

Enjoy today’s video:

Have a great Monday everyone 🙂

Halloween Card

October 18, 2011

Hi Everyone,
I was going through my box of completed cards and found one I did many moons ago (picture at the end of this post). I figured it was time to do a new version of this card.

Here’s my 2011 version

The paper is all from My Mind’s Eye Mischievous Collection. I’m loving the entire 6×6 pad.
Here are the details on the card.
Measures 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″
Bottom mat layer of pattern paper measures 4″ x 5-1/4″
The panels measure (black layer) 1-1/4″ (star pattern) 1″
Inside panel measures 2-1/2″ x 3-3/4″
I punched a 1-1/2″ circle in the card base.
Layered the pattern paper and then punched the same circle after it was adhered to the card base
Punched a 1-1/2″ circle in black cardstock and then punched a 2″ scallop punch over the circle.
That made this…
Peaking through the hole is a stamped haunted house from Lawn Fawn’s “Happy Hauntings” stamp set.
I think I’m done now with halloween cards. Hmmm need to look for some Thanksgiving stamps now 🙂
Here’s my 2008 version of the above card. Wow! Have I been really blogging for 3 years now?

Thanks for stopping by 🙂
Hugs,

(note I’m unable to locate the 1-1/2″ circle punch, I purchase mine at AcMoore)

Christmas Tag

October 17, 2011

Hi Everyone,
I hope you all had a great weekend 🙂

I have another tag to share with you today. Friday’s video I said I was going more handmade this year for the holiday’s and tags are my first project.

I made 6 of this style over the weekend (supplies listed below)

Here’s a close up of the tag.

I’ve been getting lots of questions on where I found the little stand I’m using to hold my projects (the little spiky think in the pictures). It’s called a floral frog and you can find them at Michael’s (in the aisle with the floral foam, river rocks, and such).

That’s all I have for today
Have a great Monday.
