Hi Everyone,
Let’s talk Polymer Clay…
I really enjoy playing with these resign flowers…Super fun.
I ordered my molds from MoldMuse on Etsy. Great store, fabulous shipping…I would link to the molds I purchased, but since they sell out and restock often it would be better to just send you over to the main store page.
I had watched a video on polymer clay, which is why I went out and bought the oven. You don’t need it, someone said that the clay gives off a lot of fumes and the only fumes I had are from the new oven. That was stinky..
You really only need some molds, clay, and the glaze. That’s it…
I can see myself really getting into this…I did a little searching on YouTube for some videos on making your own beads for jewelry making and I came across this one. It’s what made me pull out my LSG Mica’s…
It’s looking like Simply Charmed and Country Life are close in the vote for the next series. I’ll add them up and post the results over on Facebook 🙂
Hugs and happy crafting,
Hi Christina, I know that you've done a series on the Life's a party cart. but I was wondering if you could show how to do a card with the card feature, mine didn't turn out to well. Love your blog and all you do so awesome!! Thanks so much, Gwen
Egad! Another medium I'd like to try… the list is getting very long.TFS Christina!Hugz,Gramma
Thanks for enabling us. I have always wanted to try it. I had to laugh about you commnent about your son playing games in the background. I had to turn up my sound because my boys are screaming at their video game also.
Oh! Why oh why did I go and look at the beading video? Love it! My mind is spinning on the beauties that can be made. Thanks christina!
Just a quick note to let you know that a link to this post will be placed on CraftCrave in the Cutting category today [19 Apr 01:00am GMT]. Thanks, Maria
Hi Christina, thanks for the tutorial! I used to make quite a few things with polymer clay and when the clay was too soft, I just popped it in the freezer for a few minutes and it would get out of the mold really easily after that.brigitteetleschats at hotmail dot com
Because I saw this on your blog, I purchased 4! Now to purchase the clay and get crackin'! If you don't have the oven can it just air dry? Thanks for a new toy!!!
OMG! This is wonderful! I will be at A.C. Moore tomorrow to purchase the clay and you “made” me buy 6 of the molds. Can't wait until they get here. Thanks for sharing.
Hi…my daughter-in-law use polymer clay in her jewelry making and used what I would call a toaster oven. It worked but there was an oder, plus u would have to watch the cooking time so u wouldn't burn the clay item
Thanks I am was very interested in learning about this.
not into playing with clay but I watched the video anyway. It was very interesting. thanks for sharing.
This clay is interesting. What are you going to do with the flowers now?
I would also be interested in what you will do with the flowers. They look great!
Do you know you can get mold material at Michael's, make your own molds from your favorite charms or buttons and get exactly what you want? Lots of fun:)
You can brush a little corn starch or baby powder in the mold to prevent sticking.
I wanted to thank you for letting us know where you got your molds. I wanted to pass along a good source for sulky III. Dick blick sells the clay in families like pastels and the shipping was also quick. They also sell individual colors and have a great selection. One last thing I wanted to share is that I used glimmer mist on one of the flowers I made and it came out really nice.
This is really cool, I've gotten into the jewelery and bead making thing and I'm always looking for ways to work with polymer clay because it has so much endless potential. My kids love it (and they're both boys!), and they've always enjoyed using molds to create things with play-doh so this works really well when you consider pendants and charms and things like that to add to your jewelery. Ok, I admit, I love playing with play-doh and Moon Sand molds myself, haha. I'm going to take a look at what's out there, there's an ArtMart pretty close to us and that place is just amazing!
