Cricut Lite Live Simply~Thursday Expressions

July 29, 2010

OK I know, I know….It’s been too too too long since I’ve done a Cricut video….I needed a little break, but I’m back and ready to create (or Cricut).

I really love using pattern paper when I’m working with the Cricut, it gives it the little extra pop. My secret is…I try to pick papers from the same paper collections. For the most part they pretty much already coordinate and make picking pattern paper so much easier.

I charged up my Gypsy and…

Here are a few pictures….

Supplies:
Cricut Expression
Cricut Lite Live Simply Cartridge
My Mind Eye Quite Contrary Paper Collection
Aqua Mist Paper Trey Ink Cardstock
Aqua Mist Paper Trey Ink Satin Ribbon

Cardstock~Tuesday Tips

July 27, 2010

Happy Tuesday. Today’s tip is 8-1/2 x 11 cardstock….

My favorite basic white card stock is by Georgia Pacific (found at Walmart). It’s great for the base of cards, making flowers and cutting with your Cricut….

For Copic coloring I prefer Neenah Cardstock….rich and creamy

For colored cardstock I’m Paper Trey Ink all the way. The quality is amazing and I love the color selection as well as being able to order 12 sheets for $3 or 24 for $5. They also have matching ribbon ;0)

Storage:
When I went to Ikea a few weeks ago I picked up these (2/$3.99) magazine files.

Inside the magazine files, I use file folders from Michael’s dollar spot to separate my cardstock by color. When I first started I was writing the name of the company/color on the folder, but found that if I just cut a slit in the plastic that they come in I can just slide my cardstock out and keep the label inside the original package. This way I don’t have to relabel the files if I decided not to reorder that same color.

I keep my scraps right in front of the original package, so I reach for those first 🙂

Stay Tuned next week for 12×12 cardstock and pattern paper 🙂

Hugs,

Categories and Cricut sections are now up and running

July 22, 2010

Hi All,

It’s done, I finished all the categories and you can now find the complete list up above under the categories tab. Here’s a direct link to the CATEGORIES….I did a lot of cross referencing to help you out in finding what you are looking for.

I also finished up the section for Cricut (left hand side towards the bottom). They are broken down by cartridge and I included anything Cricut related like Design Studio, Gypsy, and more….I did take notice that there are a lot of cartridges I haven’t used yet. Better get cracking…

Hope this helps and if you come across anything weird that shouldn’t be listed under a specific category please let me know. After a while I got a little stir crazy and who knows what category I may have put something under….

Thanks for your patience while I worked on these two sections.

Blog Line-up

July 21, 2010

Hi everyone,
Happy Wednesday….OK I’ve been doing a lot of thinking and I’ve decided that it’s time I get a schedule going with my blog. As you know I try to post something everyday. Sometimes it’s a video, a project or a storage tip. I’m all over the place and I love all kinds of paper crafting (you probably could already tell that right?) SOOOO it’s time for a blog line-up. Here’s the schedule

Monday’s will be “Monday Mojo” Video with a project tutorial.
Tuesday’s will be “Tuesday Tips“Mostly some scrappy storage ideas or tips on great deals etc. You never know what I might come up with…
Wednesday’s-“Whimsical Wednesday” Anything from a completed card, scrapbook page, or mini album.
Thursday- “Thursday Expressions” This will definitely be a video day featuring a project from a Cricut Cartridge.
Friday-“Fabulous Friday” Another day to post completed projects.

Saturday’s and Sunday’s will be my days off. However you never know what you might find…

I probably won’t post much over the next couple of days. I want to finish up getting the categories section on my blog updated and the Cricut Cartridges list completed on the left. It’s taking me a while to get these all done, but I’m almost there

I just wanted to say Thank You to all of you who visit me everyday. You are all so amazing and talented.

I really enjoy your emails, comments, and scrappy thoughts.

Ribbon Storage

July 20, 2010

So this has been one of my biggest storage problem areas and I’ve tried it all…From wrapping them on clothespins to keeping them on the rolls. Finally I think I have it…A while back I posted a picture of my ribbons storage. This is just a revised version of what I was doing before….

Now I use those awesome 3M removable hooks (I love love love 3M hooks). I have 4 hooks on my door with most of my ribbon sorted by color.

each color is on one of these large 2″ binder rings (Staples). The ribbon is clipped with a binder clip and the tagged with the color and company name…I like to tag my Paper Trey Ink ribbon.

So that was just my satin and stitched ribbon…
I have the same method for my laces, but they hang from my window curtain…Lace…Pretty…

of course you have to have one on the other side of the window to keep the rod balanced.
This is my fun trim..
Yep there still is a whole drawer of ribbon and I won’t even show you the box that still has ribbon on clothespins….

Cri-Kits Embosser~Video #2

July 19, 2010

Hi All,
I spent some time this weekend preparing projects for Cri-Kits CHA booth. Cri-Kits will be at the Craft Edge booth….

Here is a video on one of my projects…

and a picture…

Also here are a few photos to another project I made using the $1.00 chalkboards you can get at AcMoore. I love how this came out…I used the Cri-Kit pens.
What I love about the pens is you can take a Cricut image that doesn’t have layers and use your design studio or gypsy to create your outlines of the images you want to use. Like the pencil and apple. I just used the Hide Contour feature to remove the lines and stitching on one page and then created another page with the lines and stitching that would be written with my pens.

Have a great day…Hugs,
