I miss you all. I’ve been so super busy the past few weeks getting ready for Christmas, shopping, wrapping presents, parties, working, and decorating.
GASP! I had to buy Christmas cards this year. I just simply don’t have enough time. Where did the time go? I’m gonna work really hard the next two nights after work to get the little stuff done and I hope this weekend I can spend some time crafting and making a few videos. My next video will be my 100th video 🙂
I thought it would be fun to share a few fun holiday memories with you and then you can share with us….
I remember the year my older brother changed all the clocks ahead 2 hours so we can get up early. He was in his 20’s….
Or the year my sister and I got our Cabbage Patch Kids. Oh what fun. My mom tried to fool us by giving us handmade dolls on Christmas Eve. We got the real ones Christmas morning. I think my brother got an Atari that year.
The year my sister got the Barbie Dream House (I was a little ticked)….or did my brother get the Atari this year?
My favorite memory was the last year I was living home for Christmas. Mom had stopped giving stockings for Christmas a few years before that. We even tricked her one year to give us a box of junk. LOL turned out to cost her much more than the stocking. It takes a lot to fill a box 🙂 We had just finished opening presents and my parents head to the kitchen to get coffee and breakfast started. She asked my sister and I to help and get something from the pantry. Needless to say we screamed like kids because there on the floor where stockings overflowing with goodies. Oh the memories.
So what is your favorite memory?
Hugs to all.
C.
OK let’s here your favorite holiday memory….

All Christmas' are so special because we are celebrating the birth of Christ. I have to say the one that stands out most is the first Christmas with my boys. They were only 2 months old and although they didn't know what was going on it was great because it was a moment my husband and I looked forward to so much our first Christmas with our kids. Have a very Merry and Blessed Christmas.
I love Christmas morning. Every year even though my older brother is married with a kid and me and my younger brother are in college, we spend Christmas eve and Christmas morning together. My mom slowly hands out presents because no one is allowed to touch the presents but her. Everyone watches everyone else open each of their presents. It is a huge event and I think the longest it even took us was four hours. So much fun! There's the fire, which always gets too hot, but we all could never do without it. One year we left the stockings up over the fireplace and cooked the oranges that were in the toes and melted a few plastic wrappers inside. It just makes me feel like a kid again every year.
My favorite Christmas would have to be the first one after I got married. We were so broke but we wanted a Christmas tree. So a few days before Christmas, we headed to the nearest small town and bought this little 6 foot Christmas tree. We borrowed the stand from my husband's parents, then realized we had nothing to decorate it with. So his parents gave us ONE string of lights, and we bought 2-12 packs of ornaments and a bag of gift bows to put on the tree. This would be my very favorite Christmas tree because it was put together with a lot of love and very little money, but we appreciated it so much more. Rhonda C.
My favorite Christmas was my son'sfirst Christmas. He was 8mo old and so cute dressed up in his Christmas outfit. It was also thefirst year we got to be with myfamily instead of the inlaws. Afterspending 10 years of having Christmas w/ just my inlaws, I feltI earned this trip to be home withmy family. 🙂
I'm glad you asked – it gave me a great page idea!!Every year on Christmas eve, my sister and I would build a 'fort' (which was really just extra sheets draped over every stationary piece of furniture in our rooms…)We would stock our fort with our christmas presents from grandma (which we always received on christmas eve) and an alarm clock (because we had to know the exact moment the clock hit 730, which was the time we were allowed to get up!)So much fun. I hope to start this tradition with my kids someday. :)Alicia W.
I am going to tell you my favorite Christmas memory from when I was a kid. One year I woke up during the middle of the night and had to go to the bathroom. To get there I had to go through the living room where we had our tree. To this day I swear there were no gifts under that tree when I went into the bathroom, but when I came out and went back to bed they were all under the tree. Santa sure does work fast!!!!
I love everything about Christmas. Decorating, baking lots of cookies. My mom probably baked 8-9 different kinds! My brother & I couldn't wait to get home from school to see what she made next. Candle-light service, and then opening one gift before bed (in addition to the pj's that were always a given). I remember the year my brother got his atari set. I got the Barbie Camper. It was a good year :-)Christmas Blessings!
My favorite holiday memory is as a little girl I grew up in the country. Before Christmas my dad would go to my cousin's house and cut down a tree for our Christmas tree. If there was snow on the ground we would go along and sled on his great big hill. It was so fun.
Wow, this was actually a tough one for me, since every Christmas is special, but the one's that truly were the best for me, is when my Gran would come to our house, we would have breakfast first then open presents. I miss her at the holidays. Thank you for asking the question so that we take time to remember those times that were and are special.KathyB
So many truly spectacular memories!! As a child, trying to fall asleep…it took forever! Of course the Christmas that I got engaged was way up there! Then the fun when our 3 boys started to really look forward to Christmas morning. We let them get up whenever they woke up because we thought it was torture to have to wait! It think the earliest they got up was 3:50 AM!! What a long day. And now we have beautiful grandchildren to share the special times with. Thank you God for all the blessings we have been given.
Don't worry about buying Christmas cards!! I did too but of course they have cute pics of the kids on them!! LOL!Christmas was always amazing when I was growing up. I always got up by 6 am even as a teenager. We let the kids get out of bed anytime after 5:30!! I don't remember much of what I recieved as presents as a little one.. although I did get a barbie dream house!! I do remember my brother getting a Commordore 64! It was a huge deal back then!!
My most special Christmas was each one I spent with my older brother. Jeremy passed away this summer at 26 yrs old; this will be a very sad holiday without him. But I will always remember those very special Christmases that I did spend with him.
